On May 17, 2025, Application 5W1402-3B was filed by the Town of Waterbury 28 North Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05676, Capital Soccer Club 4 North Park Drive, Montpelier, VT 05602 and Ice Center of Washington West, P.O. Box 682, Waterbury, VT 05676 for a project generally described as the proposed expansion of an existing recreation field situated on an upper terrace adjacent to the previously permitted ice center building located at 0 River Road in Waterbury. The 40 acres tract includes the ice center building, parking area and several grassed community playing fields. The project involves grading to increase the field to 150’ wide x 230’ long. The field will be seeded with grass once grading is completed. No new structures are proposed. The application may be viewed on the Land Use Review Board's website at https://act250.vermont.gov. Click on "Act 250 Database" and enter project number 5W1402-3B.
No hearing will be held, and a permit may be issued unless, on or before July 28, 2025, a party notifies the District 5 Commission in writing of an issue requiring a hearing, or the Commission sets the matter for a hearing on its own motion. Any person as defined in 10 V.S.A. § 6085(c)(1) may request a hearing. Any hearing request must be in writing, must state the criteria or sub-criteria at issue, why a hearing is required, and what additional evidence will be presented at the hearing. Any hearing request by an adjoining property owner or other person eligible for party status under 10 V.S.A. § 6085(c)(1)(E) must include a petition for party status under the Act 250 Rules. Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law will not be prepared unless the Commission holds a public hearing.
