Harwood Union’s Cross Country team announced that it will once again host summer Fun Runs on the Harwood Union High School trails starting on Monday, July 7.

The weekly events will be held at 6 p.m. with two races. First will be a half-mile kids run, followed by a race where runners can choose a 3K or 5K run.

Registration will start at 6 p.m. with the kids run at 6:15 p.m. The 3K/5K race will start at 6:30 p.m., according to Assistant Coach Tom Cahalan.

The Fun Runs will be held on Mondays this summer through Aug. 18.

The entry fee for runners over age 6 is $5; entry for kids ages 6 and younger is free. The proceeds will support the Harwood Cross Country team’s travel to the Maine Festival of Champions in Belfast, Maine, this fall.

Cahalan said the entire community is invited to join in. No previous experience is necessary. “We’d like folks to please come run, support our team, and enjoy our beautiful trails!” he said.
