No. 1-seeded Harwood Boys Lacrosse (11-1) is the final team standing in the spring high school athletics season and they head to the Division II state championship game on Saturday.

The team’s 16-10 win in the semifinal on Tuesday eliminated the fourth-ranked Milton Yellowjackets, clearing the way for a championship rematch against the No. 3 Hartford Hurricanes (15-2).

Read the Times Argus recap of that match here.

In 2024, Harwood and Hartford battled for the state title, with Harwood coming up short, 13-7, and settling for second place. But this season in their regular season match, Harwood defeated Hartford 5-4, ending the Hurricanes’ 28-game winning streak.

Saturday’s game will take place just hours after Harwood’s seniors graduate. Despite requests to the Vermont Principals Association to reschedule, the match remains set for 7 p.m. at Norwich University in Northfield.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance here. ($11.50 adults, $6.25 students)
