Due to some technical difficulties, the Waterbury Winterfest has announced that it has extended its deadline for recreation grant applications to June 4.
The original deadline was April 30, but issues with the website application prevented some from submitting, according to Winterfest volunteers.
The issue has been fixed and the online application remains open until 11:59 p.m. on June 4. Decisions will be made on grant awards on June 11. See the original post below for details.

Waterbury Winterfest is now accepting applications for its 2025 grants program to support recreation in the Waterbury area.
Following this year’s Winterfest celebration held from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, the organization announced that it has set aside $5,000 to distribute to local organizations as grant awards of up to $750. Interested groups must submit an online application by April 30.
To qualify, an application must describe its project or program, estimating the number of people likely to benefit from the effort. Applicants also must explain how their organization could participate in Winterfest activities should they be awarded funding.
Winterfest 2026 will be held from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1.
More information and the application form are available online at waterburywinterfest.com/grant-program. Submissions must be made by 11:59 p.m. on April 30. In previous years, Winterfest has provided grant support to Waterbury Youth Soccer, Green Mountain Performing Arts, Green Mountain Roamers, Green Mountain Adaptive Sports, Clyde Whittemore Little League, Waterbury Area Trails Alliance, Waterbury summer recreation programs, youth hockey programs, Co-Ed Volleyball, Waterbury Rotary Concerts in the Park, The Children's Room, MakerSphere, Capital Soccer and others. Grants support a variety of uses such as recreation program scholarships and facilities maintenance and upgrades.
Grant funding is generated from participant fees and donations and sponsors of Waterbury Winterfest, now in its 15th year.
