Two Vermont organizations have awarded grants to Mad River Mentoring to help fund the nonprofit’s work to support youth learning.
The Vermont Children’s Trust announced a three-year program grant of $25,725 and the Vermont Prevention Network has approved a one-year grant of $10,000, according to the mentoring group.
The Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation promotes the well-being of children and families in the state by raising funds for community-based prevention programs. Its grants go to organizations with a program concept that has proven to be sustainable.
The Vermont Prevention Network grant through the Vermont Department of Health Division of Substance Use Programs was awarded through a grant to United Way of Northwest Vermont. United Way serves as the lead prevention organization in the region that covers central and northwest Vermont.
Mad River Mentoring’s work involves providing adult-to-youth mentoring relationships through a community-based program that also offers access to support and resources youth need to improve their well-being.
